Event in Fairfax is open to the public and streaming online

Fairfax, Va – The Virginia Cannabis Control Authority (CCA) will hold its fourth public town hall meeting in Fairfax on May 4. The event will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fairfax Government Center Board Auditorium.

The town hall will provide the public with the opportunity to learn more about the CCA’s mission, roles, and near-term priorities. It will also feature a discussion of current cannabis laws in Virginia and provide the public with a chance to share its perspectives and ask questions about cannabis.

”We look forward to the town hall in Fairfax,” said Jeremy Preiss, the CCA’s Acting Head and Chief Officer for Regulatory, Policy, and External Affairs. “These events are a great way to inform communities about the CCA’s public safety and health mission and the current state of cannabis legalization in the Commonwealth,” Preiss continued. “They also help us gain a better appreciation of the public’s perspective on cannabis, including their concerns and priorities.”

The town halls are open to the public and will also stream live online. Those wishing to speak during the event are encouraged to sign up online. Speakers will be called upon during the town hall in the order they have signed up. All speakers will have a two-minute time limit.

The Fairfax event is the fourth in a series of town halls the CCA will hold throughout the Commonwealth. The CCA will host a fifth town hall in Chester on June 13. Planning is underway for future events in other regions of Virginia.
